Senior Project Manager Job Description

Job Brief
A Senior Project Manager has 10- 15 or more years of work experience and may have a Limited Partnership position in the firm. The Senior Project Manager leads the development and oversight of firm-wide construction standards. They lead the mentoring and development of Assistant Project Manager staff members. A Senior Project Manager represents the firm in the community by participating in events, as a board member, or leader in a community organization. The expected workday is from 7: 00 am to 5: 00 pm. Some evening and weekend work is required to keep project schedules.
All Project Manager responsibilities,
Manages several projects by overseeing the efforts of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers;
Act as a calming force to Client and subcontractor disputes. Assist other staff with client interactions, presenting change orders, budgets, etc.;
Oversee project efforts and administer an efficient and productive workflow; monitor project budgets, schedules, and job logs from assistants. Ensure complete and thorough documentation and communication on Sage 100 Contractor;
Produce quality control punch lists with younger staff and follow up;
Review coordination and sequencing of Subcontractor work. Must meet project schedules by constant Subcontractor coordination;
Ensure daily staff compliance with office rules and procedures; enforce clean and orderly jobsites;
Ensure Subcontractor proposals accurately reflect scope and monitor status of insurance and Subcontractor agreements;
Administer monthly billings, review and approve time slips and expenses, review and approve billings for Submittal to Client;
Actively seek out new Subcontractor talent to expand the firm s Sub pool;
Participate in regular staff reviews, provide feedback to improve the review process;
Uphold constant mentorship of younger employees and provide learning opportunities for staff. Promote knowledge of alternative construction materials and assemblies, as well as sustainable technology;
Maintain weekly safety topics for presentation to staff;
Maintain communication of project status and staff needs to Partners and manage staff assignments between projects;
Endeavor to identify liability to the firm and limit exposure;
Communication: Provide consistent self-awareness; regulate mood and accurately gauge how it affects others
Provide self-management of emotion and act with honesty and integrity, adapt with individual situations
Provide an exemplar of social awareness; read the currents of client and employee emotion and provide empathy and understanding. Resonate with others.
Must be a resonant leader; communicate clearly and convincingly, disarm conflict, and build strong personal bonds. Spread enthusiasm and solve disagreements with humor and kindness.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree;
Expert ability to effectively manage and communicate with staff and Clients. Must maintain a high level of respect and authority;

Expert ability to manage project budgets and schedules to ensure profitability;
Expert ability to effectively communicate with Clients, Subcontractors, Consultants, and Building Officials;
Expert ability to detail materials beautifully, proving knowledge of construction assemblies;
High-level understanding of building code, zoning ordinance, and TAS requirements;
Maintain a presentable and professional appearance. Clean and tucked collared shirts, pants, and steel-toed boots. Hair and beard kept trimmed.
Fluency in Microsoft Windows, Office, Revu, and Adobe Suite, and Sage 100 Contractor
