Process Chemical Engineer
Corpus Christi, TX 78401
Perform site visits and project walk downs.
Participate in project planning and preparation of budgets and estimates.
Serve in a technical capacity to provide solutions to complex engineering problems within Process department.
Participate in preparation and presentation of departmental training.
Work with client engineers to develop design compatible with client requirements.
Coordinate within the Process department and with the Project group regarding the project(s) they are supervising. Provide the necessary reporting and project controls methods to keep projects on track.
Provide process support and mentor junior process engineers
Perform as a senior professional in a lead role within the process department
Bachelor s Degree in Chemical Engineering
15+ years of experience working as an engineer in Midstream, Petrochemical, or Refining industries
Experience applying standard engineering techniques,? Procedures and criteria to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Proficient in performing hydraulic analysis, heat and material balance calculations, and flare system analysis
Experience in sizing and rating of process equipment (pumps, vessels, exchangers)
Perform evaluation of plant operations in support of facility debottleneck and capacity upgrade projects
Proficient in creation/modification of Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, Heat and Material Balance, and facility layout documents
Proficient in use of Aspen Hysys Process Simulation software.
Proficient in design and evaluation of pressure relief and flare systems
Support equipment and instrumentation specifications and requisitions
Knowledge in overall control philosophy and operating procedures
Support Process Hazard Analyses, HAZOP, and LOPA studies
Execute Conceptual and FEED studies
Knowledge of HES guidelines and practices
Under minimial supervision, capable of planning, scheduling, and executing quality design packages for large or several smaller projects
Be organized, able to prioritize, multitask, work in a team environment and take direction from supervisors and peers
Good communication and presentation skills
Able to work with teams in remote offices as well as regularly interface with the client
Able to travel and work at client sites
Master s Degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience with large industrial projects, and understanding of project environments, requirements, and risks
Knowledge and understanding of engineering, construction, and project management
Ability to make good judgments and quick decisions
Proven negotiation skills
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Possess strong computer skills, especially in Excel and Word
Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to thrive in a team working environment
Strong interpersonal skills
Capability to coordinate others to accomplish goals
Strong creative ability for process design aimed at providing a safe, economical, and defendable design
Extensive understanding of Industry standards (ASME, API, PIP, etc.)
Extensive familiarity in utilization of HYSYS Process Simulation Program
Professional Engineering License preferred
