Pipe Fabricator / Welder
Location: Southeast Michigan
Hourly Rate: $25–$29, depending on experience

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Fabricator/Welder to join our team. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and welding various pipe systems and components to support manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate is experienced with carbon and stainless steel pipe, follows strict quality standards, and can work independently or collaboratively with other tradespeople.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Fabrication:

  • Perform TIG welding, MIG welding, and flame cutting on carbon and stainless steel pipe.

  • Interpret work orders, specifications, shop drawings, and construction notes to complete projects on time.

  • Layout, cut, fit-up, weld, and fabricate simple and complex pipe assemblies, including hangers.

  • Assemble components using welding, threading, bolting, or other mechanical methods.

  • Ensure all products meet quality standards; perform repairs or rework as needed.

  • Complete documentation for each project, including inspection records, material traceability reports, and red-lined drawings.

  • Record hours and production processes in manufacturing software daily.

  • Communicate project status and part/material issues to team leaders.

Material Control:

  • Review project material requirements with team leader; submit requisitions for missing parts or consumables.

  • Use materials from stock as needed and restock tools and hardware at project completion.

  • Maintain tool cabinet inventory and work area organization.

General Responsibilities:

  • Suggest improvements to increase efficiency or product quality.

  • Follow all safety policies and accident reporting guidelines.

  • Complete end-of-day shutdown procedures for work areas and assigned tasks.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a 6G welding test.

  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes and quality standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures.

Compensation: $25–$29 per hour, based on experience.
