Job Description
Production Engineer Position Responsibilities

Communicate with field supervisors daily about operational problems and performance, status of projects, lease operating costs.

Daily Production surveillance
Review daily field production reports and well tests. Look for trends and discuss reason for declines with field operators.
Monitor compressor operations (vital to our gaslifted oil leases) and make inquiries to contract compressor service providers and field gaugers as needed.
Monitor workover reports to determine when wells coming back on production and provide guidance to field on if 24-hour surveillance is required and production rate limits.
Ensure well test spreadsheet are set up for new wells and that appropriate detail is noted.

Lease Production Surveillance & Lease Profitability Review long term lease production trends.
Receive Lease Profitability reports from accountants. Identify marginal leases. Address production issues or LOE increases.
Periodically (quarterly) hold a field area review with members of office staff and field personnel associated with the operation of the leases.

Weekly Summary Reports
Prepare a "Weekly Summary" for the Owners. It will provide a production recap, well tests for new or recently worked over wells, overview of current and upcoming drilling operations, and performance of outside operated (non-T-C) properties.
Review production graphs for all major leases and include with Weekly Summary.

Production Projects
Prepare AFE's for well tie-ins, facility repairs, and new facilities.
Consult with field maintenance/construction supervisors on preparing cost estimates for projects.
Provide assistance to field on equipment and piping specifications.
Perform engineering calculations for line and equipment sizing. Seel< competitive bids for equipment and materials.

Compressor Operations
Monitor operation of 10,000+ HP of owned compressors.
Prepare AFE's for major repairs and engine replacements.
Size rental compressor needs and obtain bids from rental providers. Release under- or non-utilized rental compressors.

Solicit Gas Sales Offers and Obtain Contract for New Gas Sales Points
Interface with marketing consultants on need for new sales points, contract renewals, and monthly gas nominations.

Solicit Oil Sales Offers and Obtain New Contracts
Similar as for natural gas, interface with consultant on new sales points and renewal of existing contracts.

Identifying and Selection of Wells to be P&A'd
Review shut in wells and select ones that have wellbore issues or appear to be fully depleted. Present to other Staff members to review for selection. Prepare AFE's for P&A operations including surface cleanup.

Invoice Processing
Review all facility and lease operations invoices and code and send to our Accounts Payable group.

Annual Property Valuations
Negotiate the Ad Valorem tax values with the county representatives and consultant. This includes the mineral value (oil & gas income generation) and personal property (compressors are the major ones).

Regulatory Compliance
With assistance from an environmental consultant, perform emission estimates for new facilities and prepare appropriate TCEQ permit packages.
Prepare SPCC plans for new facilities and perform biannual updates for existing facilities. Assist RRC coordinators with engineering support for various Texas RRC permits and programs.

Monthly Owners Meeting
Prepare overview of performance of major reservoirs.
Review major projects being recommended.
Discuss any updates on gas and oil sales pricing.

Reservoir, Workover, and Drilling
Participate in Staff review of future plans and problems and assist as needed.
