Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for safely operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting daily yard and production operations. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and tug equipment in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tug, forklift, and overhead crane equipment
- Load and unload containers and materials
- Open and close shipping containers
- Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Complete strapping and pre-load activities
- Change material rolls as needed
- Assist with inventory-related tasks and material organization
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of loading/material handling experience
- Minimum 2 years of forklift and overhead crane experience
- Certified forklift operator preferred
- Previous yard experience preferred
- Experience with inventory processes and material tracking
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb on and off stationary work areas approximately 3–4 feet high
- Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork
