Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Marine Drafting Designer to join our client’s team. Our client is a leading marine engineering firm specializing in innovative solutions for the maritime industry. Their expertise spans naval architecture, marine systems design, and marine environmental engineering.
The ideal candidate will have experience in marine engineering and a strong background in drafting and design. As a Marine Drafting Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for various marine engineering projects, including ports, barge docks, LNG, bulk handling and liquid handling. Your work will be critical in ensuring the accuracy and functionality of designs that meet industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and Design:

Create detailed and accurate technical drawings and 3D models for marine engineering projects using CAD software (CADWorx and 3D Modeling)

Develop and revise design schematics, plans, and layouts for marine vessels and related systems.

Interpret and convert engineering specifications, sketches, and notes into detailed drawings.

Collaboration:

Work closely with marine engineers, naval architects, and other team members to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications.

Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve design quality and functionality.

Documentation:

Prepare and maintain design documentation, including drawing revisions, change orders, and technical reports.

Ensure all drawings and designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company protocols.

Problem-Solving:

Address design issues and technical challenges by proposing practical solutions and modifications.

Perform design calculations and simulations to validate design performance and compliance.

Quality Assurance:

Review and verify drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.

Conduct quality checks and ensure designs meet safety and engineering standards.

Qualifications:

Education:
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting and design within the marine engineering industry.

Proficiency in CADWorx and 3D Modeling.

Skills:

Strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design work.

Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

Office-based with occasional site visits or travel to project locations.

Standard working hours with potential for overtime based on project demands.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
Salary is $100K plus depending on experience.
