Job Description
Manual Lathe and Mill Machinist
We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Lathe and Mill Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong manual machining experience and the ability to machine parts from drawings, samples, or written instructions while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Position Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of manual machining experience
Experience operating manual lathes and manual mills
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and job routers
Strong knowledge of machine setups, speeds, feeds, tooling, and machining practices
Ability to use precision measuring tools and verify part dimensions accurately
Experience working with a variety of materials including steel, bronze, aluminum, and babbitt-related components
Ability to maintain tight tolerances and meet quality requirements
Must be dependable, organized, and safety-focused
Set up and operate manual lathes and mills to machine parts according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, samples, and work instructions
Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds for different materials and job requirements
Measure and inspect completed parts to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
Maintain a safe and clean work environment while following company safety procedures
Work independently and efficiently to complete machining assignments on time
