Job Description
LK Jordan is currently seeking a Maintenance & Groundskeeper Technician for a manufacturer on the east side of San Antonio. This position will be responsible for maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor environment ensuring clean, attractive visual curb appeal for our facilities. Ensures the competent, efficient and timely completion of assignments and proper use of equipment and supplies, while communicating with ownership to determine their vision for the property.Schedule is Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 3:30pm. Pay rate is $20 - $22 DOE! This is a temp to hire opportunity and will go permanent based on performance. Benefits available!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Grass mowing/edging, trim weeds, and blows/rakes leaves as necessary
• Picks up and remove trash from property and other designated areas.
• Trims bushes, shrubs, hedges and cutting tree limbs for removal
• Prepares and treats soil for plants, flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs.
• Plants trees and prunes them when necessary.
• Perform regular window washing and basic maintenance of sprinkler system (head repair)
• Ordering supplies and request specialty services as business needs dictate
• Applies fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
• Completes seasonal maintenance tasks such as winter freeze coverings, water sprinkler system upkeep, etc.
• Operates lawn mower and leaf blower to clear sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Performs routine maintenance on power equipment and service to sprinkler system.
• Coordination with outside contractors to service campus electrical, plumbing, HVAC, sprinklers and other building systems and improvements.
• Availability to come on campus after hours and/or on weekends if emergent threat to building interiors due to climactic conditions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
• Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
• Excellent time management skills.
Required Education and Experience:
• 5+ years experience with facilities, landscaping, equipment maintenance a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• State issued Driver’s License preferred
• Ability to speak, read and write English preferred
• On-the-job training offered
