Job Description
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal operation of machinery and equipment within a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Additionally, the role involves general facility maintenance across multiple buildings.
Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical components to ensure peak operational efficiency.

Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinder repairs and related components.

Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical systems, controls, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and ventilation equipment.

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair PLC inputs and outputs.

Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to prevent recurring failures.

Develop and adhere to a preventive maintenance schedule for all machinery and equipment.

Conduct facility maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical repairs, and painting.

Train machine operators on daily preventive maintenance procedures to enhance equipment longevity.

Manage maintenance request forms, prioritize tasks, and schedule repairs accordingly.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance tracking logs and documentation.

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of fire extinguishers, AEDs, and eyewash stations.

Communicate effectively with management, work area coordinators, and production staff to ensure smooth operations.

Follow all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment and report any unsafe conditions.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Skills
-
Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
-
At least 5 years of experience maintaining a variety of machinery, including but not limited to cut-to-length machines, slitting machines, roll formers, CNC machines, and sheet metal fabrication equipment (preferred).

A minimum of 3 years of experience working with electrical systems.

At least 3 years of experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

A minimum of 3 years of welding experience.

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as preventive maintenance techniques.

Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.

Proficiency in reading technical documents, schematics, blueprints, and computer-generated graphics.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds.
Additional Requirements
-
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
Work Schedule
-
Standard work hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:10 PM
-
Includes a 40-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks (morning and afternoon).

Overtime may be required based on maintenance demands.
