Job Description
Position Title: Manufacturing Technician
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract
Location: Northeast Central Austin
Position Summary
The Engineer Technician supports new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes through development, implementation, troubleshooting, and validation. This hands-on role includes prototype development, tool and fixture fabrication, electrical and pneumatic system support, and equipment enclosure assembly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Principal Responsibilities

Support development, testing, and implementation of new and existing manufacturing processes.

Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions.

Perform electrical panel wiring and integration.

Bend and assemble process air and gas piping systems, including Swagelok-type fittings.

Build and assemble equipment enclosures.

Design and fabricate tools, fixtures, gages, and R&D prototypes using basic machining techniques.

Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

Assist with vendor evaluation and project support as needed.
Qualifications

Two-year technical degree with 8 years of Manufacturing/Engineering experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Strong GD&T knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and inspection processes.

Basic machining skills (Bridgeport mill, band saw, lathe, etc.).

Experience with electrical panel wiring and process air/gas piping systems (Swagelok-type).

Ability to design and fabricate prototypes, fixtures, tools, and equipment enclosures.

Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Ability to work effectively with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic computer skills.
