Job Description


Position Title: Manufacturing Technician
Employment Type: 6-Month Contract
Location: Northeast Central Austin

 

Position Summary

The Engineer Technician supports new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes through development, implementation, troubleshooting, and validation. This hands-on role includes prototype development, tool and fixture fabrication, electrical and pneumatic system support, and equipment enclosure assembly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support development, testing, and implementation of new and existing manufacturing processes.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Perform electrical panel wiring and integration.

  • Bend and assemble process air and gas piping systems, including Swagelok-type fittings.

  • Build and assemble equipment enclosures.

  • Design and fabricate tools, fixtures, gages, and R&D prototypes using basic machining techniques.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

  • Assist with vendor evaluation and project support as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree with 8 years of Manufacturing/Engineering experience, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Strong GD&T knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and inspection processes.

  • Basic machining skills (Bridgeport mill, band saw, lathe, etc.).

  • Experience with electrical panel wiring and process air/gas piping systems (Swagelok-type).

  • Ability to design and fabricate prototypes, fixtures, tools, and equipment enclosures.

  • Familiarity with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Ability to work effectively with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic computer skills.
