Job Description
LK Jordan has an immediate opening for a Litigation File Coordinator will maintain the integrity and organization of the litigation team's legal documents and files. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. The successful candidate will ensure that all files are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible to the attorneys and staff. Schedule is Monday- Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. Pay ranges from $18- $22 DOE.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize, manage, and maintain physical and electronic client files in accordance with legal requirements and firm policies.
• Ensure all documents are correctly filed, labeled, and stored for easy retrieval.
• Perform regular audits of files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Implement and maintain an effective filing system to streamline document retrieval and facilitate access at hearings and trials.
• Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals to gather necessary documents and ensure they are filed correctly.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
• Assist in preparing files for court appearances, depositions, and trials.
• Ensure files remain organized and complete after hearings and depositions, removing all unnecessary of duplicative documents.
• Review and update file management policies and procedures as needed.
• Utilize legal software and technology to improve file management efficiency.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience within a law firm or legal environment managing or working with pleadings, motions, and different filings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple attorneys and staff.
• Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is mandatory.
