Job Description
LK Jordan is seeking an experienced Lead Fabrication Welder to supervise and perform high-quality welding and fabrication of modular pump house basin skids, including pump bases, structural frames, and basin integration for industrial or wastewater applications. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on precision, code compliance, safety, and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor 1–2 welders/fitters; assign tasks, monitor progress, and uphold quality and safety standards
Perform advanced welding and fabrication on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys for skid structures, pump mounts, piping supports, and basins
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications to ensure accurate fit-up and welding
Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure welds meet visual and quality standards
Coordinate with engineering, quality control, and project teams to resolve fabrication issues and meet schedules
Train team members on skid-specific fabrication techniques, including alignment, distortion control, and basin integration
Enforce shop safety practices, housekeeping standards, and proper equipment usage
Qualifications
3+ years of structural and/or pipe fabrication welding experience
2–3 years in a lead or supervisory welding role
Proven experience fabricating pump skids, basin skids, or similar modular steel structures
Strong blueprint reading, layout, and measurement skills
Experience using plasma cutting equipment, positioners, cranes, and heavy fabrication tools
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to pass a weld test, background check, and drug screen
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fabrication shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with pump house basin skid fabrication, including pump/motor alignment, basin features, and load requirements
Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
