Healthcare Claims & Subrogation Specialist (Part-Time)
Houston, TX
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour | Approximately 25 hours per week
LK Jordan is seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Claims & Subrogation Specialist for a respected healthcare organization in Houston. This is a part-time, project-based opportunity offering approximately 25 hours per week, with the potential to transition into a longer-term temporary assignment based on business needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong administrative, insurance, healthcare, or claims experience who enjoy research, problem-solving, and working in a professional office environment.
Responsibilities
- Review and research healthcare subrogation requests.
- Investigate claims to identify potential third-party liability.
- Communicate with insurance companies, attorneys, members, and other third parties regarding subrogation matters.
- Prepare written correspondence, including acknowledgments and closure letters.
- Complete accurate data entry and maintain documentation across multiple systems.
- Coordinate with internal departments to research and resolve inquiries.
- Assist with claims-related investigations and support departmental objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, Government, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of professional office experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel (SharePoint experience is a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Healthcare, insurance, or claims administration experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous subrogation experience is highly desirable but not required.
- Part-Time
- Approximately 25 hours per week
- Day shift, Monday-Friday (schedule to be discussed)
- $20.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on experience
