Head of Engineering
My client is a leading manufacturer of high quality integrated circuits. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to establish and lead their engineering department as they scale up operations and expand their product offerings.
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering department within a manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up the department’s infrastructure, developing strategic engineering initiatives, and managing a team of 4-5 direct reports. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AutoCAD, electrical or semiconductor manufacturing processes, and proven leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Setup: Establish and develop the engineering department, including defining processes, methodologies, and workflows for product development, design, and production support.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure team success and professional growth.
- Design and Manufacturing Support: Oversee the design, development, and optimization of engineering systems, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes. Utilize AutoCAD for designing and refining production layouts and processes.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs meet product specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short-term and long-term engineering strategies to support manufacturing goals, improve efficiencies, and drive innovation.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement engineering best practices to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase production capacity.
- Technology Integration: Stay current with emerging technologies in the semiconductor and electronics sectors, applying relevant innovations to improve product development and manufacturing.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an electrical or semiconductor manufacturing facility, with a focus on engineering leadership.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of its application in product design and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in setting up and leading engineering teams, with a track record of driving successful projects in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, electrical systems, and manufacturing automation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with other design and simulation tools relevant to the semiconductor/electronics industry.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance specific to semiconductor manufacturing.
