Job Description
Location: Katy, TX
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Pay: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-Time
L.K. Jordan & Associates is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Grinder for a manufacturing client in Katy, TX. This position is responsible for operating spring-grinding equipment, monitoring production, and inspecting finished components to ensure they meet quality and production specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate spring-grinding machines
- Load and unload springs and other materials from grinding equipment
- Monitor equipment during production and make basic adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Use gauges and basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and quality
- Assist with dressing, changing, and maintaining grinding wheels
- Identify and report quality concerns, equipment problems, or unusual machine conditions
- Read and follow job travelers, work instructions, and production requirements
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately
- Maintain equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning tools and machinery
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Follow all safety procedures and required PPE guidelines
- Meet production expectations while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with supervisors, Quality Control, and other production team members
- Previous experience operating industrial machinery or production equipment is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn grinding equipment and processes
- Ability to safely operate machinery and basic hand tools
- Ability to use or learn measuring gauges and inspection tools
- Ability to read and follow job travelers, work instructions, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle components of various sizes
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work the required schedule
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a production team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE use
