Position Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated Enameller to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to apply various types of glass to vessels, columns, accessories, and components using established procedures, ensuring the production of high-quality and cost-efficient products. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Preferred candidates will have at least two years of experience in spray painting, with familiarity in Millroom operations being advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent hand-to-eye coordination

  • Proficiency in performing dimensional measurements using a tape measure and routine mathematical calculations

  • Ability to pass a pulmonary function test and wear respiratory protective equipment

  • Physical capability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, crouch, pull, and handle items for extended periods, including the ability to lift a minimum of thirty pounds

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Normal or correctable vision for monitoring glass application and inspecting finished products

  • Familiarity with material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand trucks

  • Adherence to established working, safety, and housekeeping procedures

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Apply and repair glass coatings on components, accessories, and parts following established procedures and quality standards.

  2. Inspect and prepare components, accessories, and parts for glass application to ensure the absence of defects that could affect the coating process.

  3. Conduct glass thickness mill tests, spark tests at 20,000 volts, and dimensional checks (warpage, out of roundness) on glass-lined vessels, columns, accessories, and components.

  4. Maintain the Glassing & Furnace Department Activity Log Report daily, accurately documenting operations performed, materials and equipment used, and required timelines. Report and document any deviations or defects.

  5. Provide technical advice and information to colleagues, technical staff, and supervisory personnel as necessary.

  6. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Working Conditions: Employees will work in an active plant environment with open-air conditions, high noise, dust, and humidity levels. They will be exposed to welding, x-ray operations, and alcohol vapors while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Pay Range: $20/hr - $24/hr DOE
