Job Description
LK Jordan is currently hiring an Event Coordinator for a temporary position that is expected to last through December 2024. The Coordinator will participate in event coordination and supporting community engagement efforts. This involves planning and executing various events and fostering positive interactions between the organization and the community. Pay rate is $24.10 hourly!
Job Duties:

Strategic Engagement: Engage with elected and appointed officials, government agencies, legislative staff, community groups, and business leaders to represent the organization’s interests during the legislative and policy processes. Utilize a solid understanding of local, state, and federal government structures and processes.

Legislative Monitoring: Track and analyze legislation, government policies, and constituent concerns. Develop policy recommendations and implement strategies based on insights from diverse information sources.

Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing internal and external events, programs, and activities. Collaborate with department staff, vendors, and partners to advance projects.

Community Outreach: Plan and support community programs and strategies that align with the organization’s strategic goals, fostering trusting relationships within the community.

Sponsorship and Engagement: Support sponsorship and community outreach efforts, including tracking engagements related to state and national legislative meetings, visits, and conferences.

Partnership Building: Develop and maintain relationships with other housing organizations, community partners, and non-profits to advance shared missions.

Operational Support: Assist the Assistant Director with day-to-day operations, special projects, and initiatives as needed.

Representation: Represent the organization at meetings, seminars, and forums.

Communication Support: Assist with both internal and external communications as needed.

Emergency Response: Fulfill duties as outlined in operational and procedural guidelines, particularly in emergency situations affecting residents or employees.

Trauma-Informed Care (TIC): Participate in TIC initiatives, including training, workgroups, and projects, to support the organization’s certification as a TIC organization.

Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI): Engage in initiatives that promote a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the organization.

Data Governance: Understand and collaborate with various data roles, such as Data Trustees, Data Stewards, and Data Users, to support the organization’s data governance policies and practices.

Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in political science, public policy, public administration, business administration, or a related field.

Two (2) years of experience working with city government, state legislature, congress, or community-based organizations.

Completion of a background check and drug screen.

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
