Position Summary
The Escrow Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of the real estate closing process with accuracy, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. This role will work as a strategic partner to the Business Development Representative (BDR) to support client relationships, enhance service delivery, and help grow the branch’s footprint in the Sugar Land and Fort Bend County markets.
The ideal candidate is an experienced escrow professional with strong communication skills, in-depth knowledge of Texas title practices, and a commitment to delivering a smooth, reliable closing experience.
Key Responsibilities
Escrow & Closing Management
- Open, process, and close residential and/or commercial escrow files in compliance with Texas title regulations, company policies, and contractual deadlines.
- Prepare settlement statements, closing disclosures, title commitments, and other escrow documents accurately and on time.
- Conduct in-office and mobile closings, ensuring clients understand all documents and feel supported throughout the process.
- Work closely with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and clients to gather all required documentation and resolve title issues.
- Review title commitments and collaborate with the title department to clear requirements and resolve curative matters.
Client Relationship & Service Excellence
- Serve as a go-to resource for clients and agents, providing timely updates, proactive communication, and professional guidance.
- Build long-term trust with referral partners through exceptional service and responsiveness.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, addressing questions, concerns, or changes throughout the closing process.
- Deliver a positive closing experience that reinforces the company’s reputation in the Sugar Land market.
Collaboration with Business Development Representative
- Partner with the BDR to support sales initiatives and deliver outstanding service to targeted clients and referral partners.
- Participate in client visits, meetings, and educational events when appropriate.
- Provide the BDR with insights about client needs, transaction trends, and opportunities for improved service or business growth.
- Help strengthen relationships with real estate offices, lenders, and builders through excellent file execution and follow-through.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain accurate file documentation, comply with audit standards, and follow internal quality-control procedures.
- Manage multiple files efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ensure all escrow funds are handled according to state regulations and company standards.
- Support a teamwork-focused environment within the branch.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–5 years of escrow experience in a title company setting (Texas experience strongly preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of the Texas title and escrow process, TRID requirements, and closing procedures.
- Proven ability to manage multiple transactions with accuracy and professionalism.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with escrow/title software systems (e.g., SoftPro, RamQuest, ResWare, or similar).
- Notary Public Commission (required or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong existing relationships with Sugar Land or Fort Bend County real estate professionals.
- Experience closing both residential and commercial files.
- Ability to influence client satisfaction and support business development efforts.
- Bilingual abilities a plus.
