Project Manager - Mechanical Engineer
St. Louis, MO

Currently in search of a talented and ambitious Mechanical Engineering Department Manager to join our talented team in St. Louis. This is a great opportunity to work on interesting and diverse projects with great clients.

Responsibilities:
Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination.
Attend Client and Internal Team meetings.
Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
Prepare process equipment inquiry/RFQ packages
Specify vessels, pumps, exchangers, rotating equipment and other process equipment.
Prepare equipment datasheets with full mechanical equipment and system specifications.
Perform technical and economic evaluations, bid tabulations, and prepare recommendations.
Prepare process equipment procurement requisition packages.
Conduct and/or participate in pre-inspection / kickoff meetings with process equipment fabricators.
Review vendor documents for compliance with project specifications and industry codes and standards.
Prepare piping material specifications and piping calculations.
Perform field equipment and piping inspections and evaluations as required.
Prepare engineering man-hour estimates for new work.
Participate in field site visits to gather information.
Assist in interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.

Requirements:

Work background in one or more of the following industry sectors: Food & Beverage, Chemical, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Goods.
Strong background in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, and materials.
Knowledge of the ASME Codes for pressure vessels and piping systems is required.
Knowledge and familiarity with API Standards and Recommended Practices applicable to the specification of refinery fixed and rotating equipment.
Background in the specification of fixed and rotating equipment, and materials is required.
Strong communication skills required to provide effective inter-discipline, client, vendor, and construction coordination on projects.
Availability for field assignments involving travel to sites involving work in industrial facilities.
Highly motivated with ability to work in an interactive and open team environment.
Self-starter with initiative and ability to complete engineering deliverables and tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare design calculations, technical documents, and drawings.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn pipe stress analysis utilizing Caesar II software.
Position requires significant exposure to vendor document review, detailed assessment of vendor design accuracy and specification compliance.
Computer Skills: MS Office and working knowledge of AutoCad or Microstation.
10 - 15 years of progressive engineering experience.
5 years in management.
BSME from a ABET accredited university.
PE License preferred or qualification for licensure
