Senior / Mid-Level Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support commissioning, testing, and startup activities for a variety of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution across industrial and infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute commissioning activities for LV/MV electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, generators, UPS systems, grounding systems, and protection relays
- Assist in developing and implementing commissioning plans, procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and functional test protocols
- Perform FAT, SAT, loop checks, continuity tests, insulation resistance testing, and protection coordination verification
- Conduct primary and secondary injection testing and support relay testing activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during startup and system integration, escalating complex issues as needed
- Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, QA/QC, safety teams, vendors, and stakeholders
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and equipment datasheets for compliance with project requirements
- Prepare commissioning documentation, including test reports, progress updates, and handover packages
- Support timely completion of commissioning deliverables in line with project schedules and quality standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5–6 years of experience in electrical commissioning, testing, and startup
- Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NETA)
- Experience in industrial environments such as manufacturing, power systems, large commercial facilities, or similar settings
- Proficiency with electrical testing equipment (e.g., insulation resistance testers, relay test kits, primary/secondary injection tools, Hi-Pot testers)
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- NETA certification (Level II/III/IV)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70E training
