Engineer - Mechanical

POSSIBLE CONTRACT TO HIRE
The Engineering Technician is responsible for assembling, disassembling, testing, troubleshooting and servicing of developmental/experimental downhole tools and lab test equipment. They will assist engineers in achieving project goals and must be capable of working with limited supervision.
Collect components and parts from inventory according to BOMs, schematics, and drawings.
Assemble and disassemble mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
Service and inspect prototype tools during field test phase.
Able to assemble, maintain, and operate instrumented electro mechanical test fixtures.
Collect test data, graphs, and images and generate reports utilizing appropriate computer programs (spreadsheets and Word documents).
Operate cranes, forklifts, and/or other hydraulic and machine tools.
Assist in tool shipping & handling for field test and operation.
Maintain lab and/or shop area in a clean and orderly condition ensuring all needed supplies and equipment are available.
Lead in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) compliance assurance in the lab and facility.
Strong experience working as a mechanical or electrical technician building and repairing working assemblies.
Must have 2+ years of relevant experience working in the oil and gas industry.
Must have 5+ years working as a technician.
Must have completed a 2 year Associate s/Vocational Degree.
Must have a valid Texas driver s license producing an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as a background check.
