Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician (Licensed) is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of all business equipment and premises. The role involves performing quality assessments, coordinating repairs, maintaining inventory, and developing preventative maintenance procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills, including expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as general knowledge of maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair on production machinery.
• Develop and execute Preventative Maintenance plans in accordance with manufacturers' schedules.
• Record maintenance activities and repairs for auditing and performance tracking.
• Provide technical assistance across various facility maintenance functions in electrical.
• Manage inventory and maintain cost-effective operations.
• Handle HVAC, electrical, and general repair tasks.
• Provide management with cost-effective course-of-action recommendations.
• Establish project timelines and execute maintenance tasks within specified timeframes.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow all OSHA regulations, wearing proper safety equipment when on plant grounds.
• Comply with all policies for the storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills:
• Skilled in testing instruments for repair and maintenance of plant equipment and building services.
• Strong understanding of electrical system principles.
• Ability to interpret and execute oral and written instructions, with the capacity to solve complex problems.
• Ability to apply knowledge of operating principles to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
• Strong mathematical skills, including basic math, fractions, and conversions between units of measurement.
• Effective communication skills with supervisors, maintenance teams, co-workers, and contractors.
Education:
• Licensed Journeyman experience in industrial equipment maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other system components.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
• Regular exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor environments.
• Protective equipment must be worn while on the job site.
• The role requires physical activity such as walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in a noisy environment and function safely around heavy equipment.
