Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines and related systems heavy semi-trucks
Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake adjustments, and fluid checks.
Repair or replace defective parts, such as transmissions, turbochargers, fuel systems, cooling systems, and drivetrains.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT and company safety requirements.
Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
Operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power equipment effectively.
Order, track, and manage parts inventory as needed for repairs.
Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of proper PPE and safe handling of tools and equipment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair needs and equipment status.
Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and manufacturer updates for diesel systems.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
1-3 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience (fleet, heavy equipment, or truck maintenance).
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
Proficient in using diagnostic software, tools, and equipment.
Physical ability to lift heavy parts, bend, crouch, and work in various environments.
Have reliable transportation

$25- $35 Depending on Experience
