Job Description: A local University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database and Application Administrator to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) team. This role is critical in planning, analysis, coordination, support, and maintenance of the ERP system Ellucian Banner and its components, including Banner 9, ESM, Degree Works, and others. The successful candidate will be instrumental in setting technical standards and leading the direction for implementing these services across the campus.
Responsibilities:

Install, setup, and configure Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance and security in support of campus applications.
-
Lead efforts in database tuning, performance optimization, and application of Oracle security patches and upgrades.
-
Develop software release plans, test, and deployment strategies in coordination with developers and analysts.
-
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of standard operating procedures and system architectures.
-
Provide daily operational support for applications, including emergency support, application installations, data backups, and upgrades.
-
Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers, vendors, and team members, advising on the application of patches and upgrades.
-
Evaluate new software applications, provide technical guidance, and ensure consistency with design documentation.
-
Write optimized queries and assist in developing reports and dashboards for enterprise reporting platforms.

Support a variety of campus applications, assist with database projects, and coordinate support activities.

Participate in project teams, collaborating on work plans, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of eight years of extensive experience in Oracle database administration and application support.
-
Proficiency in Ellucian Banner, Linux, Oracle database architecture, SQL, and Oracle application development tools.
-
Required experience with Ellucian Banner ERP, Degree Works, RMAN, WebLogic, Tomcat, and shell scripting.

Familiarity with ITIL, version control, and code repositories (GIT, Eclipse, SVN Tortoise) preferred.
