Controller

Responsible for managing and directing all functions within the Accounts Payable department ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timeliness as well as performing certain accounting processes as needed. This position reports to the VP Finance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department which processes non-payroll disbursements to individuals, partnerships, corporations and other entities; key contact for all vendors on payment issues
Assist preparation of Financials as well as Audit and Tax schedules
Ensure timely and accurate processing procedures and standards for the department; monitor vendor payment accuracy and timeliness
Prepare monthly reconciliations for accounts payable, prepaid and accrual accounts as part of month and quarter end closes
Prepare sales and use tax filings
Prepare year end 1099 filings
Maintain vendor master records including verifying validity of new vendor, to ensure compliance with IRS requirements
Perform wire transfers as needed
Prepare manual payments as needed
Supervise all elements of Balance Sheet procedures
Test any modifications and/or enhancements made to Great Plains when necessary
Learn about company s business as appropriate. Shows up to work on time and attends work as scheduled.
All other duties as requested by supervisor or department head.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years Accounts Payable experience required
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or similar
International banking and multi-locations

Knowledge of Great Plains
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and maintain a professional and positive customer service orientation;
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on schedule;
Work under minimal supervision performing projects and assignments with self-direction;
Demonstrate strong accounting, analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to define and effectively solve and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress;
Demonstrate intermediate computer skills; experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work and Outlook) and accounting database systems. Great Plains experience a must.
Ability to follow all applicable Business Management System (BMS) processes.

Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a computerized environment
