Position Overview
LK Jordan is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist for a well established client specializing in precision pump components. This role requires strong technical skills, tight tolerance machining experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced industrial environment.
The machinist will perform precision machining of pump parts including rings, bushings, sleeves, and shafts and must be able to hold tolerances within .001 T.I.R.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision machining of pump components
- Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Maintain tight tolerances on finished parts
- Read and interpret G and M codes
- Make tool offsets and perform machine adjustments
- Set up heavy parts using fixtures and jigs
- Safely operate overhead cranes and jib cranes
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Assemble tooling and change inserts using pre setters
- Follow job routers and production requirements
- Perform daily machine maintenance
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications
- Certificate in Machine Shop Technology or completion of a two year machinist apprenticeship
- Minimum two years of experience operating CNC Mills and Lathes
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and tolerances
- Proficient with micrometers calipers indicators and precision measuring tools
- Strong math computer and problem solving skills
- Ability to follow safety procedures and meet production timelines
Work Expectations
- Follow all safety requirements
- Perform machine set ups and operation
- Produce quality parts that meet drawing requirements within allotted time
- Perform inspections of equipment and tooling
- Maintain cleanliness of machine and work area
- Perform daily maintenance on machines
