CNC Machinist
Scope & Purpose
This job description applies to all machining jobs and related activities performed by the CNC Machinist. It will be reviewed regularly to ensure alignment with company standards and requirements.
Responsibilities
Operate and program CNC machines, including:
5-Axis CNC HBM with Heidenhain Control System (e.g., Varnsdorf WHQ15CNC).
4-Axis CNC HBM with Fanuc Control System (e.g., Giddings & Lewis).
CNC VTL with Fanuc Control System (e.g., O-M Ltd Neo-20EX).
- Interpret technical blueprints and designs to ensure accurate machining per specifications.
Measure completed parts using precision tools such as ball gauges, calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges to verify conformance.
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to maintain optimal functionality.
Follow company operating procedures, safety rules, and industry standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Complete any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing and remanufacturing processes in compliance with API Q1, API 6A, API 16A, and API 16AR standards.
Experience with CNC machine repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Skilled in machining and handling materials such as carbon alloy steel, stainless steel, and Inconel.
Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in an oil and gas manufacturing or production environment.
At least 6 years of hands-on experience operating and programming CNC machines with Fanuc and Heidenhain control systems.
At least 3 years of experience manufacturing drilling equipment or components, particularly Blowout Preventers (BOPs).
