CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
LK Jordan is currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team in the Houston area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes in a precision manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes using HAAS and OKUMA machines.
- Work with Okuma and FANUC controls to perform machining operations.
- Make program edits and offset adjustments at the machine control as needed.
- Recognize program irregularities and communicate issues to programmers, engineers, or management.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform tool changes, machine setups, and routine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with CNC mill operations when needed (preferred).
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience operating HAAS and OKUMA CNC lathes.
- Working knowledge of Okuma and FANUC controls.
- Ability to make program edits and offset changes at the machine.
- Strong blueprint reading, shop math, and machining process knowledge.
- Experience identifying machining or programming issues and communicating solutions.
- Experience with CNC mills is a plus.
- Own basic machinist tools preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
