Assembler - Mechanical

Pay Rate is $17-$19
First Shift: 6am-4: 30 pm
This individual performs precision assembly and sub-assembly of valves and actuators to meet critical operating requirements with close tolerances.
Performs precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
Adjusts or aligns through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
Utilizes a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
Maintains dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
Performs various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools.
Diagnoses common test failures and recommends or performs rework to' correct discrepancies.
Holds problem units for engineering disposition.
Ensures that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor s attention any condition that is abnormal.
Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures that are normally part of his/her expertise.
Utilizes mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and performs tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
Previous experience with electrical and mechanical assemblies of complex electro-mechanical actuators or similar product, including good wiring practices;
One year of J STD-001 soldering experience;
Demonstrated mechanical and electrical ability;
An ability to use electrical and mechanical measuring instruments and hand tools
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES:
Use the required Personal Protective Equipment. (Steel toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
Regularly required to stand.
Regularly required to use fingers and hands.
Regularly handles, feels and reaches with hands and arms.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Occasionally required to sit.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
