LK Jordan & Associates is hiring on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client in the Cypress, TX area. This is a highly visible, diverse Accounting Manager role supporting all financial, accounting, and select HR functions of the organization. For the right candidate, this position may convert to a direct hire.
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats across accounting, finance, payroll, benefits, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of accounting, including:
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Billing, General Ledger entries, and Bank Reconciliations
Cash application, collections, payroll, and budgeting
Manage cash flow and banking relationships
Review and process customer credit applications, assign credit limits and terms
Process weekly payroll and monthly commissions, ensuring timely tax reporting
Handle state and local tax compliance, including:
Sales & Use Tax
Income, Franchise, and Property Taxes
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Administer employee benefits, including:
Medical, Dental, Vision
Retirement plan enrollment and ongoing maintenance
Support Human Resources functions, including:
Hiring and termination processes
Maintaining employee handbook, policies, and holiday schedules
Processing W-2s and 1099s
Tracking employee vacation and leave balances
Provide customer and operational support as needed:
Review orders for accuracy
Resolve invoicing and sales tax discrepancies
Process returns and ensure proper accounting treatment
Serve as liaison with staffing agencies when temporary labor is utilized
Prepare daily and weekly management reports related to business activity and data accuracy
Lead annual insurance renewals and negotiations, including:
General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers’ Compensation, E&O, Flood, and Business Owner policies
Review contracts, terms & conditions, and legal language for compliance and risk awareness
Perform additional special projects and ad-hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
10+ years of well-rounded accounting experience
Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to operate independently in a high-responsibility, multi-functional role
Compensation & Opportunity
