LK Jordan & Associates is hiring on behalf of a well-established Non-Profit organization dedicated to serving the community. We are seeking a Temporary Senior Box Program Eligibility Specialist to join the team. This role requires extensive travel within the service area, working directly with seniors at various partner sites and community centers.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Box Program Eligibility Specialist plays a key role in ensuring eligible seniors receive essential food assistance. Under the direction of the Senior Box Supervisor, this individual will travel to various distribution sites to verify program eligibility, assist with enrollments, and distribute food packages. Providing exceptional customer service and professionalism is essential in this role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Verify IDs, process client enrollments and re-certifications, and ensure proper documentation through an electronic database.
- Issue food box tickets and provide program information to seniors.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing distributions, including preparing documents, contacting clients, and organizing logistics.
- Participate in on-site food distributions to ensure a positive client experience.
- Maintain accurate client records and properly handle electronic equipment used for program operations.
- Work independently to manage administrative tasks and prepare for upcoming distributions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience in community programs, OR Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Business, Humanities, Marketing, or a related field (preferred in place of experience).
- Certifications & Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in English and Vietnamese preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent standing, moving, and lifting up to 35 lbs. regularly (and up to 50 lbs. occasionally using a dolly).
- Must be comfortable working in various environments, including community centers and partner sites.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasional loud noise levels.
TRAVEL
- 95% travel required within the designated service area.
- Must be available for occasional flexibility in hours for community events, emergency response efforts, and organizational needs.
