Warehouse Lead
Job Description
Pay Rate: is $20.00 hourly
Schedule: Monday, - Friday from 8: 00am to 4: 30pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- On a limited basis, supervises staff and ensures appropriate training, understanding of systems, proper performance of duties and resolution of issues and inquiries as needed.
- Assists with overseeing and coordinating day to day operations for a functional area that may include multiple departments or areas within the organization.
- Effectively leads group meetings with staff.
- Assists in the hiring process and/or makes recommendations.
- Ensures that staff are fully trained for the job they are performing.
- Motivates, mentors, trains, and develops staff.
- Prepares and conducts constructive and timely performance feedback for staff development.
- Provides coaching and counsels staff when required.
- Additionally, as a senior subject matter expert, responsible for independently completing a broad range of production tasks and/or planning or leading tasks and/or other staff in the accomplishment of work.
- Responsible for setup, adjustment, and operating a variety of machines to produce precision parts and instruments.
- Measures and examines pieces using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, verniers, and squares to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Operates motorized material handling equipment such as an overhead crane, side-loader, and/or forklift, when required.
- Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections.
- Completes work order paperwork/documentation.
- May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing.
- May mark material after processing and store material for additional processing and/or shipping.
- Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 plus years of relevant warehousing, material handling, and machining experience required such as Cut-to-length, overhead crane, laser machine, shear cutter, etc.
- Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
- Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
- Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows software required.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
