Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Execute the financial strategy of the company
- Manage financial controls and accounting procedures
- Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company
- Provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner
- Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
- Support the CEO with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans
- Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments
- Coordinate and produce all tax documentation as required
- Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives
- Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
- Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization
- Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization' s fiscal function and performance
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter
- Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals
- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports, monthly profit and loss by customer/business unit, forecast vs. Budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division
- Supervise the accounting department and provide regular maintenance and backup of all accounting systems and supervise financial staff
- Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for lenders and company? S owners
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.
- Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation
- Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners
- Oversee AP Department, approve large payables, sign checks, and authorize large wires and ACHs
- Supervise Accounts Receivable manageme nt, provide guidance relating to th e collection process, and ensure contract terms are adhered to and fit the best cash position for the company
