Job Description
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs problem diagnostics, installation, alterations, and preventative maintenance and various types of electrical equipment as required.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as multi-meters and power meters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Demonstrate knowledge of flow, pressure, temperature, level instrumentation, and control power systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot various types of switches, meters, indicators, temperature sensors, positioners, controllers, control valves, and DCS loops.
- Use test equipment and perform routine calibrations. Maintain various instrumentation loops.
- Demonstrate ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and wiring schematics.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state (or other applicable government regulations) and company- mandated policies and regulations.
- Documents and records maintenance repair information
- Safety conscious and safety minded.
- Able to read blueprints and technical documents.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduate or GED.
- 2 year Technical School or Associate s degree preferred.
- 4+ years electrical maintenance experience in an industrial/refinery setting.
- Preferred Electrical Journeyman s license.
- Legally authorized to work in US, in compliance with the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act

- Regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to stand; use hands to grasp, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; and may occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
- Pulmonary function level must be adequate for supplied breathing air certification.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Experienced in electrical skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise; trend analysis and pattern recognition
- Must be well organized, skilled in Microsoft Office, with the ability to write detailed reports and organize data.
