Job Description
Follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Visually inspect components with the aid of a microscope fitted with reticle. Understand cosmetic and functional discrepancies, critical and non-critical areas to make pass/fail decisions.
Operate mass finishing equipment per written procedures. This requires measuring material removal and documenting results .
Perform in-process measurement using micrometers, drop gauges, scales, PH gauge, proof tester, and optical comparators, or similar equipment.
Strong daily trouble shooting / monitoring of vibratory equipment to ensure acceptable polish results are achieved e.G. Correct media and slurry mixes, drain and slurry lines are open and not clogged, etc.
Strong mechanical abilities to perform machine repairs e.G. Broken belts, worn out bearings and pulleys, etc.
Observes machine operation to detect component defects or machine malfunction.
Follow safety practices such as wearing safety shoes and the use of hearing protection as required.
Control traceability of components and proper sign-off of traveler and/or computer, continually ensuring that documentation is acceptable.
Keep work area and equipment in clean, orderly condition.
Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
Observe safety practices concerning self and others.
Identify and recommend changes to solve problems that appear in the daily processes.
Understand and follow company and departmental policies and practices.
Keep supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
