Job Description
LK Jordan is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Tech for a short-term assignment. This role involves collaborating with a team or working independently to carry out minor facility repairs and maintenance across all City Departments. Tasks may include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, office furniture assembly, and glass or masonry work. Additional responsibilities include setting up and breaking down for meetings and events, as well as general maintenance and cleaning of City facilities as needed. Schedule is Monday- Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm and the pay rate is $20.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs duties in setting-up and breaking down meetings and events as instructed through written and/or oral communication.
• Inventories and stores equipment prior to and after events, ensuring its safe return to designated areas.
• Sets up tables, chairs, podium, dance floor, stage and audio/visual equipment for public, private, ground breakings and other City functions throughout 11 City facilities and other locations as needed.
• Maintains, deliver and set up Show Master stage for local and regional events includes theatrical sound, lighting and audio/visual. Maintains, deliver, decorate and drive City’s Parade Float and vehicle for local and regional events.
• General Maintenance/Cleaning
a. Uses proper cleaning methods and equipment to disinfect, deodorize restrooms, mirrors, kitchen equipment, meeting rooms, common areas, offices and floors, walls, tables, chairs, carpets, floor mats, other fixtures etc. replenishes rest room and break room supplies
b. Disposes of trash and participates in recycle program
c. Clean windows inside and outside of buildings
d. Sweep sidewalks and police parking areas
• Assists in ensuring a professional, safe facility for all users
a. Reports unsafe equipment, tools, electrical, tables, chairs, vehicle
b. Secures buildings, check outside doors and sets security alarms
c. Sets up hospitality carts, makes coffee, tea, provides bottled water, ice and sodas, when necessary picks up food products for specific meetings
• Preventive Maintenance duties
a. Vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, wet/dry vacuums, floor scrubbers, power washers, carpet shampooer, dolly, table flat bed, chair cart ice chests other tools and equipment
b. Maintains/wash, refuels and details assigned City vehicles including Administration and Facility Services vehicles
c. Maintains hard floors i.e. sweep, mop, strip wax, re-waxing, buffing, scrubbing
• Maintains records and reports
a. In house supply order/receive, and maintain/stock inventory as related to operating supplies and facility function
b. Data entry, copying, faxes, completes daily check lists at the end of shift, scans and sends to supervisor via email, creates work orders, and assigned to complete work orders
c. Completes vehicle logs and turn in gas slips
• Assists in performing electrical, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and painting on all city structures and facilities.
• Assists with minor repairs and maintenance to doors, windows, bathroom plumbing, and office furniture.
• Fabricates and installs cabinets, shelving, desk consoles and related items.
• Operates vehicles, power/non-power hand tools, related equipment, and supplies.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• One (1) year experience in general services, building construction, or facility maintenance preferred.
• Completion of a background check and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
